台灣精選：首映Taiwan’s Best : Premiere

　　今年影展共有十五部台灣影片入選，為鼓勵台灣女性創作者以女性影展做為首映舞台，今年特設「觀眾票選最佳台灣獎」，本屆有八部影片參與競賽。另外七部非首映影片，影展特別設立評審團推薦專區，讓更多的台灣觀眾有機會觀賞這些佳作。

　　15 Taiwan films were selected to be screened in the festival in 2007. To encourage Taiwan women directors to premiere their films at Women Make Waves Film Festival, this year the festival will present AUDIENCE AWARD for THE BEST TAIWAN FILM. There will be 8 Taiwan films in competition for the Audience Award. The jury also selected 7 previouly viewed films so the audience will have the opportunity to enjoy these films again.

　　一封導演寫給著名的美籍旅法紀錄片導演的email，貫穿整個故事情節，藉由導演的女兒Elodie的視野重新審視生命、空間、語言、身份、國度的界線。Elodie是個台、法混血兒，出生時，她的法國爸爸來台1年，爸爸回法國之後，網路webcam成為父女彼此認識的橋樑，真實的父親藏身虛擬的小螢幕，「爸爸」的意涵也隨著Elodie的成長不斷在轉變……

　　A letter the filmmaker wrote to her late teacher and guide, the renowned American documentary filmmaker Robert Kramer (1939-1999), is woven throughout the plot of the story, as the boundaries of life, distance, language, identity and nationality are re-examined from the perspective of Elodie, her daughter.

　　2002年，我第一次看到媽媽的動態影像作品。做了她二十幾年的女兒，我突然覺得「她」好像是一個陌生的人，但又好像還是我熟悉的那個媽。一開始我只是單純的想透過攝影機去看看「她」，後來，在拍攝的過程裡，我逐漸看到了自己、看到了我和她之間，看到了多年來積壓的回憶和情緒。

　　In 2002, I saw Mom's video artwork for the first time. My feelings for her combine both distance and familiarity. I started filming her simply out of a wish to see “HER” through the camera, yet in the process, I saw myself, the relationship between us and the suppressed memories and emotions of all the intervening years.

　　2005 烏山頭影展
　　「我一直穿著比自己的腳大兩號的男鞋，後來因為工作的關係，我買了一雙Timberland的女鞋，它很合腳穿起來也很舒服，但是我從來沒有真心的喜歡過它。」我的朋友R正在變性，除了外表，他也變得坦然勇敢。那年冬天我帶了一台攝影機，記錄了他的話，與他的變化。

　　My friend R is an FTM （female to male transgender person）. In the middle of a cold winter, I visited "him" with a camera..."I used to wear men’s shoes 2 sizes bigger than my feet, until I found ladies' shoes from Timberland. They did fit me, but I never liked them wholeheartedly." R said.

　　2007年初，我想拍一個短片，關於我以前的學生，現在的樣子。她們從鄉下到城市去讀書，阿湘，背負著國中學測失利的陰影，像要逃離自己影子般拼命狂奔。但她不知道自己這麼拼命是要往哪裡去？青春的不安、面對未來的焦慮、無人可訴說的孤寂、說的出與說不出的話語，這些是片子真正要傳達的。

　　I wanted to make a short film about the students I used to teach. I wanted to see what happened after they left our hometown. It’s a film about teenage anxiety, the uncertainty and the isolation. Emotion beyond words.

　　Chi and Pei have nothing in common；they are like two parallel lines that never intersect. The first day of high school was the day they met. From then on began a story of chasing and running, robbing and hiding.

　　崑山科技大學畢業生玩弄類型、驚豔全台的代表作。從國中開始，佳佳發現自己的身體構造有別於同齡的女生。她有一雙長滿毛的腿，漸漸的，她發現，腿毛的問題層出不窮；甚至影響到她的異性緣，腿毛成為她揮之不去的夢魘，當佳佳下定決心除去這令她困擾20年的問題後，她的生活就此美妙順遂了？

　　In junior high, Cha Cha finds that she is different from all other girls: she has hairy legs. As she grows older, she realizes the hairy legs bring her lots of “problems.” They even drive boys from her. She makes up her mind to pluck the hair, but does this make her life happy forever? A young film that is full of humor and imagination.

　　孤單的異鄉，壓抑的情欲爆發藝術創作火山！寂寞的女孩在垃圾桶旁邊發現了熊，她帶熊回家，幫熊洗澡，買衣服給熊穿。她把熊當作朋友，唸故事書給熊聽，跟熊一起吃晚餐。熊也喜歡女孩，女孩出門時，熊在家裡耐心等待女孩回家。有一天，女孩為盆栽澆水時，因為好玩也為熊澆了水。那天晚上，被澆水的熊發生了奇妙的變化。

　　A girl finds a bear on the street. She takes it home and finally realizes that it’s not only a bear.

　　一片漆黑中，電梯的光亮引領著主角穿梭，在眾多看不清楚的選項中，電梯上上下下，開關承載，每一次電梯門的開關背後，展開的會是什麼樣的旅程？迎面而來的，有沒有勇氣接受？最後電梯停留的樓層，會不會代表著最後的出口？

　　Amongst many alternatives, the elevator rises and descends in the dark. What journey the passengers through the light will experience is unpredictable. Will the passengers be courageous enough to face all that comes? Does the the floor on which they get off mean the final exit?
